If you speak to any therapist, you'll realise they spend much time exploring what is going on in the therapy room, both for their clients and themselves. Now obviously a therapist cannot talk about their clients, our ethical boundaries are essential to the work we do. Much of what I think about, I take to my supervisory sessions to ensure I'm always checking on my approach.
However, I also felt that it might be worth exploring with you all the regular themes that appear in therapy, for clients, for therapists and generally in life. Whilst I'm aware there are plenty of mental health blogs, I'm hoping to touch on issues that are useful to you.
I decided to call this blog 'The MindStep' as I use walking as a way to self-care but also to allow my mind to unconsciously work through what it has learned that day or that week.
I hope you find it useful and I'm more than happy to pick up on any subjects you would like me to expand upon. Like any professional, in any setting, I don't know everything. That is impossible, but as I am always looking into new things, I will share what I have learnt.
